Prescriptions
You can order your repeat prescriptions according to the following table:
| Repeat slip received | Collect after 11:30 on: |
|---|---|
| Monday | Wednesday (before 1pm) |
| Tuesday | Thursday |
| Wednesday | Friday |
| Thursday | Monday |
| Friday | Tuesday |
This schedule does not include Bank Holidays. You should allow 72 hours for repeat prescriptions collected directly from the pharmacist.
Hospital outpatients' prescriptions will be ready within one week.
How does the system work?
- One week before your current treatment runs out, tick the slip next to the items you need.
- Put the slip in the box at the surgery, or send in by post. If you wish your prescription to be returned by post, please attach a stamped addressed envelope.
- Collect your prescription from reception according to the above timetable.
- Make an appointment to see your doctor around the review date shown on your prescription.
How to avoid problems
- Please order your repeat in good time, particularly before holiday periods.
- Handwriiten additions are not permitted. Only treatments which are listed on a computer-generated repeat prescription slip may be requested.
- If the repeat slip is lost, a handwritten request should include: your name, date of birth, name of drug and the dose you are taking, remembering that only items agreed as repeats may be requested.
- We do not accept repeat prescription requests by telephone, fax or email.
Please discuss queries about your repeats with your doctor - the receptionists are not authorised to make alterations.
